How is the economy affecting you? How is it affecting your neighbor? What is at the heart of the economic problems the U.S. has been experiencing for the last 30 years? What solutions should we be seeking to address it? Is it even a “problem” that has a solution?

Most of us continue to defer to our political parties or deeply embedded partisan ideologies for answers, and yet nothing seems to really change. What can our faith tradition add to this discussion, and where might it take us, and our country, for answers?

Join the Minnesota Catholic Conference and The Basilica of Saint Mary for an engaging, thought-provoking viewing and discussion of the 2014 documentary film, Inequality for All. The film explores economic inequality and the widening income gap in the U.S.

University of St. Thomas professor Dr. Michael Naughton, Director of the John A. Ryan Institute for Catholic Social Thought, and St. John’s University theology professor Dr. Daniel Finn, Clemens Professor on Economics and the Liberal Arts, will provide foundational remarks on Catholic Social Teaching and lead a discussion about ways to respond.
